Kisu himself said his birthday was 90, and we trust him as a source, which is why we listed 90 on his profile – we list both years mostly as a note that we don’t know if the other birth years for the older/original members (Cory, Byungho, Seokjun, Sungoh, and Jeonguk) are correct especially since we know Choeun lied about Daeil’s and Kisu’s age with both of those members coming forward to announce their real birth years

So, I came across Sungoh Instagram account, because there are loads of other 24k website profiles, which still have him listed as a member, so I got curious, if Sungoh is no longer a member, how come he still has 24k in his user name 24k_sungo. I thought he would have gotten rid of it like Daeil and Hui did. Seriously 24K has probably one of the most frustratingly annoying companies going alongside Xeno-T (Topp Dogg) company, Speed, BigFlo, Big Star, Boyfriend (Starship is a good company to Monsta X, but they should focus on Boyfriend too, as much as I love seeing Donghyun on the Unit. He shouldn’t have been on the Unit. If you get me) Ah I feel like some companies shouldn’t debut more than one group
Seokjun who left 24K before they released “You’re So Cute” still has 24K his his SNS names. I think a lot of it has to do with their relationship leaving the company. Both Sungoh and Seokjun had “injuries” that they were recovering from and never returned. While Byungho, Daeil, and Hui all “betrayed” the company in some way. Sungoh has been officially removed from all of the 24K’s official profiles, Choeun will just never come out and admit it.
As far as companies having only one group, then you have problems of overworking the artists. I like when they have more than one group, if they know how to manage the groups, like CUBE or JYP are usually pretty good, they rotate their promoting artists, obviously TWICE is a hugely popular group so JYP is going to promote them more heavily, but its a lot better than some groups get. ~ James
Well small companies should stick to 1 to 2 group max, until they have the platform to grow (if you get me) then the middle-big group should have 2 to 5 groups max and then the big companies who have enough management, staff etc to look after such groups. But I hate companies who just neglect their old groups and overwork their new groups or certain idols.
I was a trainee for 10 years for two different companies and was offered a place in another company. While also knowing people in the business, and having mutual friendship with one massive kpop idol and underground rapper because their friend is my friend. But I knew how frustratingly exhausting it was, hence why I quit. So I feel sorry for idols who have crap companies or over worked.

I couldn’t answer that, I don’t know why that’s a thing, they followed Seokjun for a long time after he left, so I am guessing it has to do with how the various members cut ties with the company – on good terms or bad terms

Sungoh didn’t leave 24K if I’m correct. He’s just on hiatus because of a shoulder injury some years ago 🙂 – he dislocated his shoulder
It just becomes how long does he remain out of the group until he’s not in it anymore? 2 years seems sufficient, but should it be 3 years, 4 years? Seokjun, by the logic used for Sungoh, is still in 24K as well. This is not the first time Choeun has made the same announcement, and a member is simply gone, plus Choeun no longer celebrates Sungoh’s birthday – nor do they mention him for anything. Sungoh may have comeback to SNS, but it still doesn’t appear there’s any intention of returning to 24K.

For Kisu we will add to his profile that he is simply in Military Service, but since he is entering the military as an active member of 24K we will not move him to former member. At this point the chance of Sungoh coming back is the same as winning it big in the lottery. If he were just on “Hiatus” with the group he would still support them on SNS, and they would still at least acknowledge his birthday and things like that. Choeun’s last statement about Seokjun said the same thing years ago. Sungoh is out of the group. He hasn’t mentioned or supported the group in almost 2 years. If he were interested in coming back at any point there would be something from him. If after he returns from the military and miraculously wants to return to the group we will move him back. ~ James

I think you can already list Hui as a former member… It’s been almost 2 months since he came back to China, he’s participating in photoshoots etc., he also changed his IG name so it doesn’t contain word “24K” anymore, he didn’t participate in 24K’s recent promotion like fanmeeting tour, last Only You stage etc… And I think that we all know that Choeun won’t tell us what’s going on and won’t release official statement.
Like we did with Daeil and Sungho we are at least going to wait for them to have a comeback. Or at least start another makestar project. Or some sign from the company, like editing him out of existing promotional materials. But most likely he is out and Choeun won’t say anything. I was enraptured by Daeil from the very first millisecond I saw him. He is a commanding stage presence, a talented song writer and dances like the world is on fire. In my opinion, 24K had just found they’re aesthetic, Cory and Daeil created beautifully together. Why then, it was at all possible to keep Daeil, or Sungoh for that matter, would you allow yet two more members of the same band go AGAIN? I enjoyed the other members mostly because of the group as a whole. The dynamic is not the same, the aesthetic is lost just as it was interesting and the new conceptsite have been weak. I know. Everybody has their bias and we all lose our minds the second we dislike anything about anything that has to do with us feeling they have been wronged. And, I don’t actually know what, if anything may have happened. I guess it comes down to really wanting to see the fire back in 24K. His name is Daeil, I’m may have mentioned. Find him, fix it. And that is all.

I agree that 24K without Daeil and Sungoh is lacking something and not the 24K that I loved, but I think Daeil is happier not being in the group and doing his own thing, and if Daeil and Sungoh are happy then I am happy. If you have time or maybe some one else can help me out with my confusion about the romanisation of Jeunguk/Jeonguk’s name.
Normally the company decides the romanisation of the member’s name and everyone sticks to the style of writing the name like that (members themselves, media, official stuff etc. – I also know there are two systems of romanisations.)
In Jeunguk/Jeonguk’s case on their official facebook is name is spelled as Jeunguk. But on his Instagram he writes his name as Jeonguk and also soompi wrote his name during the Bingo-Era like that.
For me the two spelling have different pronounciations. Can someone tell me which spelling is more realistic to the Korean pronounciation?

The closer spelling for how it should be said is Jeonguk – we do try to go with the most official spellings from the companies when we add names here – but Jeonguk is correct for the Korean name. And thank you for the sweet comment!

Are Hong Seob and JinHong both maknae of 24K?
Yes they are. Typically in Korean the only important part in defining age is the year you were born. Becuase of that a group may have multiple maknaes. Other groups determine youngest in a more “western” way taking into accout month and day. ~James
I won’t believe that Daeil and Sungoh left the group until there is a proper proof… And until there is 24K in their IG account nicknames, it keeps my faith that they haven’t left.. Many idols (Not all) keep their twitter and IG account names the same even after they leave a group because that way their fans can still follow them. Seokjun hasn’t participated with the group since “Hurry Up” and he still has 24K in his twitter, and shows no signs of ever returning to the group. Hopefully they do come back and if they do we will move them back but for now, they will stay where they are. ~James

Sungoh and Daeil are both “taking time away from 24K” which usually means they’ve left the group but the company won’t announce it. But there is a chance that those two may return (it seems very unlikely even though many fans are keeping the faith and believing the company). Byungho and Seokjun are both out out and won’t be returning for sure.

You can’t post factual information based on your opinions. “Usually means” does not mean fact. Until the company says otherwise they are still members. Stop confusing new fans. Sungoh and Daeil are still 24K members.
The group is already planning a comeback without Sungoh or Daeil mentioned as members at all – you can find it on their facebook page – they are having the fans help raise money for it – and they introduce the members of the group there without mention of Sungoh or Daeil.
If you read the notice about 24K we mention that Choeun has never officially stated that the group is out – we never mislead anyone – we just provide what we know and why we made the choice we made.
We have stated multiple times that if they return (which is still a long shot) we will add them back as members – but Choeun has been moving forward at this point without them.

I did find an official announcement on the cafe from Choen stating that Byungho has left the group due to back issues that will be in need of continual care, so for his health he has left the group. Although this news deeply saddens me I want Byungho to always do what is best for him and his own needs
